About Lea

Lea Dékány is a Budapest-based contemporary artist working primarily with acrylic on canvas.

She grew up in Sárospatak in a creative family, surrounded by painting from an early age. As a child, she spent much of her time drawing, painting, and taking part in local art camps and exhibitions. Later, life took her in a different direction and she became a doctor, but over time painting found its way back into her everyday life.

Her work explores the space between abstraction and landscape. Through layers, texture and contrast, she creates atmospheric paintings shaped by light, colour and changing weather, without referring to a specific place.

Alongside her artistic practice, Lea works as a doctor and is also a wife and mother.
